Marlborough Sounds Marinas will have virtual reality headsets so that visitors to its stand can experience boating in the Marlborough Sounds for themselves.
While trying the headsets, visitors to the stand will be able to experience cruising out from the marinas, heading to a Marlborough Sounds Lodge for lunch, watching dolphins, and participating in a boating club yacht race – all filmed in high definition virtual reality – a great way to experience the Marlborough Sounds while at the Viaduct Harbour!
“We will also have information available and will be inviting expressions of interest for our new marina – Waikawa North West. Over previous years we have had to take names and add people to our waiting list, as our marinas at Picton, Havelock and Waikawa in the Marlborough Sounds have all been full to capacity,” says Connie Smith, of Marlborough Sounds Marinas.
“We are really pleased to be able to offer our boat show visitors a place to base their vessel in our new Waikawa North West marina from 2020.”
Marlborough Sounds Marinas is currently in the early stages of construction of Waikawa North West, which will see:
· An additional 252 berths in the Queen Charlotte Sound
· Totalling 3,805 berth meters
· Berthage options ranging from 10m to 30m
· First berths due to be available by Christmas 2020
