The Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AlMS) was fully established in 1986 and is the peak industry body for marine surveyors in our region and the largest marine surveyor association in the Southern Hemisphere. Our members are qualified and experienced in their profession and membership of the AIMS means being committed to and demonstrating our core values of talent, integrity and excellence in all that they do.
Our core objectives are :
1. To research, improve and promote the specialised discipline of marine surveying through the delivery of processes and resources to support those involved in the industry
2. To work with government at all levels to ensure that the interests and livelihoods of those persons working with the marine survey industry are protected
3. To provide consumers with sufficient information and ensure that the marine survey industry itself is represented in regard to the public decision-making process
4. To provide educational resources for all people engaged in or wanting to join the profession and to improve and enhance the future of the industry
AIMS has members in all States and Territories of Australia as well as New Zealand, the Asia and South Pacific regions and beyond.
The AIMS if governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are responsible for the implementation of policy and directing the GM in the day to day operations of the Institute.
